The Dichotomies of Carriage Town

If you want urban renewal juxtapositions, look no further than Carriage Town in Flint. All of these structures are within a two-block radius of each other.

  1. Reminds me of a couple of neighborhoods in Gary that are full of starter-type houses. I'll have to take a few pictures of those neighborhoods myself now.

  2. The historical elements on some of these old places are just beautiful, and that brick house at the corner of 1st and Lyon was always one of my favorites, despite its condition. Can't imagine what it would cost to renovate that one - and would anyone actually move into it given the location?

  3. Yeah, that red brick one is my favorite too... but it wouldn't be as nice without that curved front porch.

  4. When I was a little girl I used to dream of living in the red brick with the curved porch. We used to drive by it on a way to one of my mom's friends houses.
