The Power of Flint

I'm hoping readers can help me out with something. I'm looking for some stats or anecdotes that indicate how many cars were being produced in Flint at the height of production, presumably sometime in the sixties. I've found some good info on overall G.M. production, but I'd like to narrow it down to the Flint area. I'm basically looking for info that shows Flint was producing a lot of cars. And I need a source for the info that I can verify. I'd really appreciate any assistance. Thanks.

  1. JD Power & Associates has to know production numbers to determine their industry-wide plant productivity rankings. When did they start collecting that data?

  2. You're going to need the production records from each of the plants. GM Heritage might be able to help. The Sloan might be another resource.

  3. Hey Gordie, my mom knew the guy who set up this archive, not sure who runs it now, but contacting them might be a good first step.
