This had to be one of the best bargains ever offered at the IMA. I'd pay two hundred for even a smoke seat today. All class acts at the time. Now those were the days. I was making two bucks an hour then.
$2.50 at the door in 1955 translates into $20.38 in today's dollars. Still a great deal for all those acts and performers. Was IMA always such a deal in the fifties?
About 1952-53 there was a great concert at the IMA with Sarah Vaughn, Count Basie and Nat "King" Cole. It couldn't have cost much or I couldn't have gone. What a wonderful memory!
Today, I would pay even more to see that group of performers. What a great collection to all be featured on the same venue. Saw the Count at Ballenger FH when I was more appreciative and familiar with his music.
