  2. Gordo, babe... this isn't Buick HQ. Google map Leith and Industrial. The sidewalk, trees, size of the lawn, # of windows, and the level above the windows looks just like that ancillary building. Check it out.

  3. I dunno. It's like a baby version of Buick HQ.

  4. Is that the old Buick Personnel building? It was on Leith, just west of Industrial.

  5. I remember when they built it. I always liked the old place better.

  6. The Pontiac complex has a building on Joslyn that looks just like the old Buick HQ that was at the corner of Hamilton and Industrial.

  8. I was the assistant to the Engineer in charge of it's construction. We had a construction trailer next door. The project at one point was shut down (temporarily) and I packed up and went South.

You might enjoy my book about Flint called "Teardown: Memoir of a Vanishing City," a Michigan Notable Book for 2014 and a finalist for the 33rd Annual Northern California Book Award for Creative NonFiction. Filmmaker Michael Moore described Teardown as "a brilliant chronicle of the Mad Maxization of a once-great American city." More information about Teardown is available at www.teardownbook.com.
