Some officers cost the city over $100,000 in total compensation/benefits. They wanted to cut 15% of that total cost.

The unions, in this case, are engaging in an aggressive misinformation campaign and unfortunately it seems to be working.

If the public safety unions were willing to take those cuts, no one would have lost their job.Dan Moilanenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15791425312559091940noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3244123422713926575.post-62938970640530435822010-04-02T13:56:50.867-07:002010-04-02T13:56:50.867-07:00Yeah, as far as elected positions go, this one'...Yeah, as far as elected positions go, this one's pretty tough. That said, I would have cut everything but police and fire. And I think jobs where you have no real control and you have to do them to pay the bills are all probably tougher than being mayor of Flint simply because Walling or Williamson and Stanley could all quit and do other things.sable peltnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3244123422713926575.post-40939994604067446322010-04-02T13:53:58.032-07:002010-04-02T13:53:58.032-07:00I should add that I meant to put a question mark a...I should add that I meant to put a question mark after the headline, meaning it was open for debate. Didn't mean to imply that this was indeed the toughest job. So I added the question mark.Gordon Younghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17911010126952753812noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3244123422713926575.post-32612027296622889352010-04-02T13:52:34.160-07:002010-04-02T13:52:34.160-07:00Cutting $8 million out of a city budget seems pret...Cutting $8 million out of a city budget seems pretty tough to me.
