In this case it just came out that way. We'd had a conversation about fishing and I asked if I could take a picture. He does look like he'd like me to get lost, though.
I graduated 1972 from Northwestern Sr. High School and I had been away from Flint since I was 21 yrs. of age with the exception of my Uncle's funeral and my Mother's funeral. This past week, I went back and the weather was fantastic!!! compared to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area of Texas which has had 11 days straight of over 100 degrees. It was great seeing my family and seeing the beauty of Mt. Morris, MI. I miss the days in the 50's, 60's, 70's when I lived there and my Dad was working for General Motors Fisher Body Plant as a General Assemblyman; he passed on shortly after retiring.
Thanks for commenting. I moderate comments, so it may take a while for your comment to appear. You might enjoy my book about Flint called "Teardown: Memoir of a Vanishing City," a Michigan Notable Book for 2014 and a finalist for the 33rd Annual Northern California Book Award for Creative NonFiction. Filmmaker Michael Moore described Teardown as "a brilliant chronicle of the Mad Maxization of a once-great American city." More information about Teardown is available at www.teardownbook.com.
Is it just me or does the fisherman look like he's kinda leery of the dude with the camera? What'd you do, Gordo -- ambush 'em?
