Flint's MC Breed is dead at 37.
Vibe reports: "Never fully reaching mainstream status, Breed rhymed proudly about the desolate town of Flint, an urban area usually masked under the wide belly of Detroit. His hit 1991 song, "Ain't No Future in Yo' Frontin'” sampled Zapp's "More Bounce to the Ounce" and the Ohio Players' "Funky Worm.”
i met breed about 4 years ago. i was at a hotel in la with my wife and daughter. breed was there with his people doing publicity for a new record. i introduced myself as a flintoid, a fan and a fellow northern high school student. he was a nice guy. we talked about flint, oakland, music etc... he gave us plenty of t-shirts, hats and cds. his hit "no future" is a classic. another flint guy making his mark. RIP breed! michael westerman
