This is so wildly inappropriate I have to think the person created it without realizing how wildly inappropriate it actually is? Trying to stay positive.
Making inappropriate comments in regards to tragedies that affect the have-nots isn’t condemned in the U$A, and it has long preceded the current occupant.
Arne Duncan said Hurricane Katrina was the best thing that happened to schools in New Orleans.
Joel Osteen locked his doors to people fleeing Hurricane Harvey.
The list could go on and on. It’s not a tragedy until it happens to you
If you’re a Flintoid, don’t be like these dill weeds, rather channel your inner-Genora Dillinger or Roscoe Van Zandt.
Hey, do you got an email address so I can send you a photo? I've recently taken a photo of graffiti that has persisted in Bassett Park for at least 30 years, perhaps 40 years or more. The famous (to me) "Big Ol' Wells" tag on the substation on the corner of Dayton and Brownell.
Is this the original tag? Is someone maintaining it? Who is "Big Ol' Wells"? and what is Wells' connection to Civic Park?
Holy ship! I just looked at Google Maps and it looks like a car might have crashed into the substation... maybe it just collapsed. You can still read the "Big" part... I snapped a photo at the end of April, so the damage was done from the end of April through whenever that photo was snapped in June.
Thanks for commenting. I moderate comments, so it may take a while for your comment to appear. You might enjoy my book about Flint called "Teardown: Memoir of a Vanishing City," a Michigan Notable Book for 2014 and a finalist for the 33rd Annual Northern California Book Award for Creative NonFiction. Filmmaker Michael Moore described Teardown as "a brilliant chronicle of the Mad Maxization of a once-great American city." More information about Teardown is available at www.teardownbook.com.

ReplyDeleteThat was my first thought. But come on, who wouldn't realize this is inappropriate and tone deaf?

That sure sounds like Flint to me!
