Smoke Signals

Unlike San Francisco, people still smoke in Cleveland. Some Clevelanders smoke and put on lipstick while walking at a brisk pace. (Technically, she's also giving me the finger, but I think it was inadvertent.) That's not easy to pull off. I really like this city. (Click photo to enlarge.)

Tobias Wong and the Smoking Mitten

The designer and conceptual artist Tobias Wong died recently at the age of 35. He had no direct connection with Flint, but I thought he somehow had the Vehicle City in mind when he created the Smoking Mitten, which features a handy cigarette-sized eyelet to keep your hands warm while you indulge in a Marlboro, perhaps after shoveling the driveway.
