The nightlife's calling you
With commercials like this one, it's hard to fathom how Flint's downtown Hyatt Hotel went belly up. (Warning: This video contains extremely uncool white people.)

The Hyatt was and still is a joke. It would have made more sense to refit the Durant. And that commerical, wow! Looks like it was stacked with Powers preppie grads and students.
ReplyDeleteThe former Flint Hyatt Recently, most recently the Character Inn has been sold the the Crim Foundation which organizes the Crim Festival of Races each August.

Dude, they look like the Power's Mother's Club. It makes it look like the Hyatt was the place to troll for prostitutes and desperate divorcees. Of course, if that were actually the case it would still be in business.
ReplyDeleteBut that wok full of soupy vegetables dished up by a parolee sure makes me want to get dinner there.
ReplyDeleteGood God, Gordie, where do you get this stuff?!! Just look at all that hairspray...
ReplyDeleteIt's a good thing no one lit a match on the set.
ReplyDeleteDon't you miss the days when Ladies had A Touch of Class and Gentlemen wore attire for Members Only? Grunge ruined the hairspray economy.
ReplyDeletehaha, i love this blog.
ReplyDeletethis video is SO funny!
I saw this video on youtube a few weeks ago. It is hilarious! Flint looked so busy didnt it?
ReplyDeleteAnd all that for the extravagant price of $24.99/night. One good thing was Don Franco's hair salon. I think it was the first "expensive" place to get your hair cut in Flint. Now that's a topic you should explore - Flint hair (as evidence - the blond chic with the 80's "do" and face paint) You could explore how the mullet was such a versatile hairstyle for both men and women!
