You might enjoy my book about Flint called "Teardown: Memoir of a Vanishing City," a Michigan Notable Book for 2014 and a finalist for the 33rd Annual Northern California Book Award for Creative NonFiction. Filmmaker Michael Moore described Teardown as "a brilliant chronicle of the Mad Maxization of a once-great American city." More information about Teardown is available at www.teardownbook.com.

Don't recall these cards... but maybe I wasn't that important a client. My best memory of the Copa is $5 at the door and 25 cent beers once you got in. :)
ReplyDeleteI think I may still have one or two...they kept them by the front door next to a jar full of Dum-Dums.
ReplyDeleteI utilized this juxtaposition as a conversation starter in more than one occasion.
Weren't there also VIP cards? I seem to remember having 1 and going to the front of the long line on Saturday night.
