Happy Thanksgiving from Flint Expatriates

  1. Thanksgiving Day at Atwood Stadium...not just another football game. It had a magic all its own.

  2. We had to build our Thanksgiving day celebration and feast around that game every year. Atwood Stadium was standing room only, every year. I can't remember which team had command of the series over all, but I suppose it was Northern. They were on a roll when I moved from Flint. Anyone know the stats on that?...unclebuck

  3. Since Central is now closed, Central won the overall series 41-39-1

You might enjoy my book about Flint called "Teardown: Memoir of a Vanishing City," a Michigan Notable Book for 2014 and a finalist for the 33rd Annual Northern California Book Award for Creative NonFiction. Filmmaker Michael Moore described Teardown as "a brilliant chronicle of the Mad Maxization of a once-great American city." More information about Teardown is available at www.teardownbook.com.
