You might enjoy my book about Flint called "Teardown: Memoir of a Vanishing City," a Michigan Notable Book for 2014 and a finalist for the 33rd Annual Northern California Book Award for Creative NonFiction. Filmmaker Michael Moore described Teardown as "a brilliant chronicle of the Mad Maxization of a once-great American city." More information about Teardown is available at www.teardownbook.com.

If they catch who's doing this, I wonder if they will be tried as terrorists.
ReplyDeleteThey should do something drastic. Setting fires and exhausting the fire fighters we do have as well as the resources of the communities surrounding Flint isn't going to magically make the money appear to bring back those laid off. It's pretty ridiculous, and it's getting more and more dangerous. The fires today are affecting occupied homes. People are going to be killed. That might not be the intent of those starting these fires, but fire isn't exactly a controllable thing either.
