  1. Ernie Harwell along with George Kell(my favorite ball player ever)went beyond just announcing in the booth. Both were real gentleman and knew their trade.

  2. One of my best childhood memories is sitting on the couch with my grandfather listening to the sweet voice of Ernie Harwell calling the Tigers game. "A young man from Grand Rapids caught that foul ball" Thanks Ernie. Wish I was 10 again.

  3. I have this wonderful memory of my third grade teacher letting us listen to the 1968 World Series on the radio during class time...It is Harwell's voice I recall and I can still name the team!
