I can almost smell the books. Nice picture!
remember spending hours here so well
I remember the stereopticon viewers with boxes of photos. Also the Audubon book. Great library in great neighborhood.
On a gloomier note, I see that there's an glaring absence of patrons in that nice aisle.
I was thinking the same thing, Grumkin! How I loved that place - and the hours I spent in it...
One of my favorite Flint places...and excuses to borrow the car. =^)
I wish they'd renovate the library, Kalamazoo has such a great one...
Thanks for commenting. You might enjoy my book about Flint called "Teardown: Memoir of a Vanishing City," a Michigan Notable Book for 2014 and a finalist for the 33rd Annual Northern California Book Award for Creative NonFiction. Filmmaker Michael Moore described Teardown as "a brilliant chronicle of the Mad Maxization of a once-great American city." More information about Teardown is available at www.teardownbook.com.
