My mother and I spent quite a few Sunday afternoons sitting in the car while my dad, Verne McFarlane "showed" houses with this sign in front. He was with Darby and Son until he was eighty. I really didn't look forward to these as my mother would grill me on my spelling words for Monday in school at Homedale. Yes, those were the days when there was no "spell check" and my Mom being a former Iowa school teacher was a real task master.
