My Apologies

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. I've been training for the Ironman Triathlon and my workouts have really cut into my blogging. That was a lie. I've just been swamped with work and life in general. I've also gotten depressed by all the bad news coming out of Flint. But enough excuses.

  1. Oh, sorry to hear you wont be in the race.

I called my Grandma in Burton,Mi today. I asked her what she was up to. Guess what she said..

"I'm dodging bullets. Have you seen the news."

The blog is great! When you get around to it, could you pick up some eggs. Ha.

  2. Gordie...Sorry that you're feeling bad about Flint. I don't mean to add to your depression, but you probably need to get used to the bad news. It isn't going to get any better any time soon. I want you to know that I enjoy this blog. I'm sure it gives many readers a "comfort food" kind'a feeling. I need to pick up pasties next trip home. Enjoy your blogging success and have a good summer.

  3. Hey, thanks. I just have to keep reminding myself that 80 posts a month is probably impossible to maintain.

Thanks for commenting. I moderate comments, so it may take a while for your comment to appear. You might enjoy my book about Flint called "Teardown: Memoir of a Vanishing City," a Michigan Notable Book for 2014 and a finalist for the 33rd Annual Northern California Book Award for Creative NonFiction. Filmmaker Michael Moore described Teardown as "a brilliant chronicle of the Mad Maxization of a once-great American city." More information about Teardown is available at www.teardownbook.com.
