Flint Photos: Strand Theater in 1915

I remember the Strand. The State Theater was in the same block between 1st and 2nd Sts. They ran double features, mostly B movies and second run A movies. I think they were tore down in the late fifties.

If you were under twelve, I think it was thirty five cents to get in either the State or Strand next door. That's where my haircut money went thanks to Barber College.

The Strand and State theaters were on Saginaw St. between 1st and 2nd. They showed double features,mostly B movies and 2nd or 3rd run A movies. They were torn down in the late 50s.

I don't remember the theaters probably because I'm only 64 but I do remember the old Barber College when I was in High school I got a good old fashion shave there.I thought it was the coolest thing... If I wanted to see a movie I went to the Burton Theater for 25 cents...

I remember going to see Cat Women From The Moon starring Zsa Zsa Gabor at the Strand. It was mid to late 50s and was torn down soon after.
