Flint Artifacts: Flint Junior Fire Inspector Badge

Thanks to Toprat1 for this Flint Artifact, presented to him at Cook Elementary in 1956.

  1. Nowadays kids get a "junior arson investigator" badge.

  2. I remember these! In fifth or sixth grade I won a trip to a detroit tigers game (obstructed view if I remember) for documenting, turning in, and correcting the most fire hazards in and around my home. These were then submitted to my class teacher. I could have found more, but my mother made me stop, fearing they would condemn our house!

Filmmaker Michael Moore described Teardown as "a brilliant chronicle of the Mad Maxization of a once-great American city." More information about Teardown is available at
