A Color-Coded Shrinking City

A map used in the City of Flint master planning process reveals the extent of abandonment and sub-standard housing in the Civic Park neighborhood. Go here for the master plan map gallery.

Oh Gordon this is so sad. I have tears in my eyes for my city. I wonder why the houses on Hamilton, east of Dupont are being kept up except for one. Thats where my old house is so I am glad.

I'm looking at the map; I grew up on Greenway across from the Haskell Park entrance. It sure looks like our old home is now Land Bank owned. What does that mean?

Shades of pink, yellow, green, and purple. Flint never looked so good. Is it possible that we could actually paint Flint colors that match this map? I think THAT might solve all of our problems.

I shared a link to these maps on my facebook page and have had several comments. Heading to Flint next week to have a look for myself. (Planning to visit both Blackstone's and Good Beans, since reading the Teardown book.)
