  1. My, that is a very "progressive" portrayal of Native Americans.

  2. Any artists out there? I'd love to see modern revisions of this beaut titled "Regressive Flint"

  3. Good idea, smurfs. We could do a poster that's suitable for framing. My friend Kara Tambellini is hard at work right now on some Flint Expatriates postcards, but she's a temperamental artist type from Flint and won't tell me what they'll look like.

You might enjoy my book about Flint called "Teardown: Memoir of a Vanishing City," a Michigan Notable Book for 2014 and a finalist for the 33rd Annual Northern California Book Award for Creative NonFiction. Filmmaker Michael Moore described Teardown as "a brilliant chronicle of the Mad Maxization of a once-great American city." More information about Teardown is available at www.teardownbook.com.
