  1. Sherwood Forest--what a place that was. Our band, "The 6 Pak" played out there one weekend.

I'm trying to remember why we called ourselves "The 6 Pak." Oh, I remember now!

    :^)

  2. Randall- I'll pay ya top dollar for any recordings of "The 6 Pak" you have lying around. No kidding.

  3. Hah!

    You know what?

This was the gig that REO couldn't make due to some studio problems, and we had a last minute fill-in with a musician from Cleveland and his new band. Their set included a fifteen minute version
of the key cut from an about-to-be released album, "Barnstorming"; a little tune called "Rocky Mountain Way."

Fresh from the James Gang---Joe Walsh!

  5. Hello,

I'm enjoying your site. I lived in Flint from '67 to '73 during, let's say my formative years :) Many, many memories. I recently set up a Facebook page for Sherwood Forest...trying to get the word out for Alum to visit. Look for "Sherwood Forest, Davison, MI" on Facebook and join the memories there too. :)

    Thank you....

Thanks for commenting. I moderate comments, so it may take a while for your comment to appear. You might enjoy my book about Flint called "Teardown: Memoir of a Vanishing City," a Michigan Notable Book for 2014 and a finalist for the 33rd Annual Northern California Book Award for Creative NonFiction. Filmmaker Michael Moore described Teardown as "a brilliant chronicle of the Mad Maxization of a once-great American city." More information about Teardown is available at www.teardownbook.com.
